about "A Quiet Joy"

“There is a calmness to a life lived in gratitude, a quiet joy.”
Ralph H. Blum

I started a "gratitude" journal sometime back. It was during a time where I was becoming hugely dissatisfied with my life. I think it's okay to be dissatisfied with aspects of your life but if you allow yourself to be consumed by it, you will die inside. So the "gratitude" journal was simply just to help me try and move my attention from the things that annoy, discourage, sadden, anger disappoint and demotivate me - basically all the negative stuff! And to shift my focus to the positive things, the beauty around me, the small mercies, the little victories, moments of inspiration and the love I receive - basically all the positive stuff - whether big or small. So the journal really worked and I found myself in a place of "quiet joy". I haven't written in that journal for a while now, so I thought of starting my very first blog and "dedicating" it to finding inspiration in everyday things and searching for the good in every situation.

Hope this adds a little joy and inspiration to your world as it's done mine...

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough and more.
It turns denial into acceptance; chaos into clarity;
problems into gifts; failures into success;
the unexpected into perfect timing and
mistakes into important events.
Gratitude make sense of our past,
brings peace for the future
and creates a vision for tomorrow.
